With over one million copies sold, this series of modern classics about the charming Penderwick family from National Book Award winner and New York Times bestseller Jeanne Birdsall is perfect for fans of Noel Streatfeild and Edward Eager.

This summer the Penderwick sisters have a wonderful surprise: a holiday on the grounds of a beautiful estate called Arundel. Soon they are busy discovering the summertime magic of Arundel’s sprawling gardens, treasure-filled attic, tame rabbits, and the cook who makes the best gingerbread in Massachusetts. But the best discovery of all is Jeffrey Tifton, son of Arundel’s owner, who quickly proves to be the perfect companion for their adventures.

The icy-hearted Mrs. Tifton is not as pleased with the Penderwicks as Jeffrey is, though, and warns the new friends to stay out of trouble. Which, of course, they will—won’t they? One thing’s for sure: it will be a summer the Penderwicks will never forget.

Deliciously nostalgic and quaintly witty, this is a story as breezy and carefree as a summer day.

Currently reading... seems like a very interesting read! I won't recommend it for anyone with a T or below reading level, because even as my reading level is Z, this book is a little challenging to me. However, challenging always means better. Therefore, this book (even though I'm on chapter 2) is already promising to be a fantastic book!

I have never read this book, but with all the great reviews I look forward to it!

These children's adventures are so interesting and after you read about them I assure you that you will want more, more, and more!! These books were amazing and should definitely be on your must-read list!!

This book is very original, creative, and interesting. It just sucks you in and leaves you wanting more.

The Penderwicks are four girls, cautious and motherly Rosalind, smart and headstrong Skye, Curious and dreamy Jane, and adorable, sweet, little Batty. They meet a mysterious boy named Jeffrey and have a wonderful summer full of mischief and fun.

A creative and original book that is perfect for reading and sitting by the pool. I loved that it was so original. I have never read a book like it before.

The Penderwicks is a book that is about four girls there is alot of adventure in it this book is amazing I highly recormend it

This book was about four sisters and their interesting neighbor. It is a sweet story and very fun to read. I loved it and I am sure you would too!! ;)

I read this book a few years ago but I found it at the library last week and started reading it again since I forgot a lot of the story line. Once I picked it up I couldn't stop reading it until I finished again. I liked this book when I was younger and I still think it is cute now.

Just like the interesting Boy, I assume that this adventure of the Penderwicks will be just as amazing, possibly magical, nostalgic and interesting tale. I look forward to reading this book, and the fact that it has won such an award motivates me even more.
