The city of Ember was built as a last refuge for the human race. Two hundred years later, the great lamps that light the city are beginning to flicker. When Lina finds part of an ancient message, she’s sure it holds a secret that will save the city. She and her friend Doon must decipher the message before the lights go out on Ember forever! This stunning debut novel offers refreshingly clear writing and fascinating, original characters.

I think this should be good

Don't read the second one... you will waste time and money if you buy it.

I think that it was good because you never knew what was coming, because they didn't give you a lot of hints.

I love love love this book! best book ever!

I have read this book and think it is well written. The City of Ember was a very short chapter book for a high level reader. Maybe a fourth grade, fifth grade book (maybe, idk.) But I did enjoy this book.

This book goes from normal life to an action adventure. It may take a while to get to the intensity, but once you get there it's worth the wait. This book is great, you should try it.
