A modern-day classic and New York Times bestseller that celebrates the power of individuality and personal expression from beloved Newbery Medalist Jerry Spinelli.

Stargirl. From the day she arrives at quiet Mica High in a burst of color and sound, the hallways hum with the murmur of “Stargirl, Stargirl.” She captures Leo Borlock’ s heart with just one smile. She sparks a school-spirit revolution with just one cheer. The students of Mica High are enchanted. At first.

Then they turn on her. Stargirl is suddenly shunned for everything that makes her different, and Leo, panicked and desperate with love, urges her to become the very thing that can destroy her: normal. In this celebration of nonconformity, Newbery Medalist Jerry Spinelli weaves a tense, emotional tale about the perils of popularity and the thrill and inspiration of first love.

Don’t miss the sequel, Love, Stargirl, and Jerry Spinelli’s latest novel, The Warden’s Daughter, about another girl who can't help but stand out.

“Spinelli is a poet of the prepubescent. . . . No writer guides his young characters, and his readers, past these pitfalls and challenges and toward their futures with more compassion.” —The New York Times

A new girl comes to Mika high school. Everyone thinks that she is different because of the way she acts towards others, so people call her Stargirl. Leo, the person who is telling the story followed her after school one day but, she didn’t go home so Leo gave up and went home. Stargirl asks Leo why he stopped following her that day because she knew he was following her, when he was in front of her house. After that Stargirl and Leo started becoming closer people start to ignore them. Leo was not very happy about that, so he told Stargirl to change if she wants to still be friends with Leo?

you have to get this book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have this book though it is not hard cover. Afriend gave it to me and this book is a very beautiful story. Stargirl teaches readers that everyone is unique in their own way. Also, it teaches readers that unique means unique and there is no such thing as a weird person.

Stargirl is a person who is shy and special. everyone don't want to play with her because she is weird. one day, a boy called Leo, he look like everyone is the school and Stargirl likes him so one day, they are in relationship. Leo try to teach Stargirl to be more like everyone and they are trying to be successful. 3 days ago, Stargirl is gone, and in class has a new student called Susan, Susan is Stargirl disguise but 3 days ago she change back because she can't endure to be a normal person.

There is a girl, her name was Stargirl, she goes to Mica High School, before she goes to Mica High School, she was home schooled, people thought she was really weird, she sings happy birthday songs to random people, and send cards to everyone in the school. Stargirl and a guy called Leo, had a relationship, as they get closer, people start to ignore them, it's like pretending that they do not exist. Stargirl is not just weird, her personality makes her special, she has her own style, she is always positive, for example she always change her own name to something else.

i think people should be thereselfs no matter what

Stargirl is a very inspiring book. It’s not very long but there is a very important theme in the book: Be yourself. In the book, Stargirl was bullied by students in her school because she’s unique and different than all the other kids from her school. She didn’t care about what other people think of her. Leo became her love interest in the story. They affected each other. Leo is a boy who wants to fit in and be ordinary; While Stargirl is very different from the others. Stargirl was willing to change for Leo, I think that Leo is very selfish because he made Stargirl change for him, but he didn’t change for Stargirl.

The main character of this book is a very interesting and unique girl. I admire her in a way since she didn't feel the need to dress up or behave in a way most of her schoolmates did, she didn't really care how others thought of her. Though not everyone at her high school liked her very much she didn't care about them and only focused on her friends. In the story she would be my favourite character because of that. My least would be Leo because of how he expected her to become a normal girl. I enjoyed this book because it was seen in his point of view and we also got to read about his thoughts and ideas throughout it.

Main character of this book is a girl, who called herself stargirl, she is totally different than others, other people in Mica high school think she is strange because she knows everyone’s birthday and will sing happy birthday to, she doesn’t care how others think she is. There have another main character- Leo, he is the view of book, author use him to looks though the book. At the back of the book, Leo tell Stargirl to change, change to same like normal people, but he doesn’t think about when stargirl changes, that is not her anymore. I think this book is good, something happen in book will happen in real world too, I think sometime, the people should try to be different not just follow what others do. I want to let more people to know and read this book.
