The Truth About Forever is a very touching story, like many of Sarah Dessen’s other book. The main character Macy Queen had lost her father, and she still can’t get over her grief. The story really touched my heart. The story was very beautiful and I felt the urge to cry at many points of the story, the strong emotions in the story had really touched my heart. I like how the different characters in the story had handle their loss of other people differently. Everyone had a different story. The book was just really heart-touching and made me understand that you can’t grief about something or someone forever, you have to learn to walk out of the grief and have a new beginning but still have a place for that person or thing in your heart.Over 8 years agoivy_h added a book review.

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak is a book narrated by a very special character, Death. Death narrates the story of Liesel Meminger, the story begins from when Liesel is nine years old and suffering from the death of her brother and separation from her mother. She went to go live with Hans and Rosa Hubermann, when she arrived, she couldn’t read or write so she is made fun of at school. Hans taught her how to read during midnight lessons in the basement. The story tells about Liesel’s life and them keeping a Jew in their basement to protect him from the Nazi’s. This book is really touching and it made me cry. This book is about the power of words and languages, and Markus Zusak wrote it in a way that just fits this.Almost 9 years agoivy_h added a book review.

What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen is a really inspirational book. Mclean Sweet is the main character of the story. Her parents divorced two years ago when her mom cheated on her dad. The betrayal left Mclean very angry and she was unsure of her true identity. She moved to different towns with her dad because of his job, and to escape the past, she reinvented herself at every school. She was never Mclean, she had been Beth, Lizbeth, and Eliza, but when she moved to Lakeview, she couldn’t escape her true identity - Mclean. This book is different from other Sarah Dessen books where a “hero” saves the main character. In What Happened to Goodbye, Mclean saved herself and fixed her relationship with her mom. Mclean lets her anger out and isn’t scared to rebel for the right of her own choice. It felt positive and I was cheering her on.Almost 9 years agoivy_h has read this book.

Love, Stargirl is the sequel of the book Stargirl. It’s after Stargirl left Mica High. She moved to Pennsylvania and continued homeschool. It was written in letter to Leo, her former love interest. There, she met new friends and a guy that she started to fall in love with, Perry Dellaplane. I feel like this book is also very inspiring like Stargirl and tells us to live in the present and not the past. I think that the solstice that’s mentioned in the story is a symbol of hope for Stargirl. After Leo broke her heart, she couldn’t forget him, but soon had hope because she met Perry.Almost 9 years agoivy_h added a book review.
The book Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is the first story of the Harry Potter series. It’s also known as “The One That Started It All”. When I read the book, I felt like I was pulled into the world that Harry Potter was in. Harry Potter lost his parents when he was still a little kid. They were killed by the dark lord Voldemort. He’s the only person that survived the death curse. After I finished the book, I really wish that I could go to Hogwarts and experience all the things that Harry Potter and his friends did in school.Almost 9 years ago
