Cameron Boxer is very happy to spend his life avoiding homework, hanging out with his friends, and gaming for hours in his basement. It's not too hard for him to get away with it . . . until he gets so caught up in one game that he almost lets his house burn down around him.
Oops.
It's time for some serious damage control--so Cameron and his friends invent a fake school club that will make it seem like they're doing good deeds instead of slacking off. The problem? Some kids think the club is real--and Cameron is stuck being president.
Soon Cameron is part of a mission to save a beaver named Elvis from certain extinction. Along the way, he makes some new friends--and some powerful new enemies. The guy who never cared about anything is now at the center of everything . . . and it's going to take all his slacker skills to win this round.

A boy named Cameron Boxer is a slacker. Then he gets picked to go on a mission to save an otter that is about to become extinct. This is just the start of his adventure.

are you a slacker? am i a slacker? am i considered a slacker since i haven't yet read the book? i want to read a slacker as slacker.

Slacker is about Cameron Boxer, a boy who is known for his laziness and is very happy to live his life practicing for the big video game competition. Usually nobody really pays attention to his lifestyle, that is until he gets caught up in a game, and almost lets the house burn down. So when his parents threaten to take away his game console, Cameron and his friends decide to take drastic action. They set up a fake school club so that their parents think they are doing good deeds. But then word gets out, and kids think the club is real and want to start joining- and Cameron is their president. So Cameron has to play along, so his bluff won't be revealed. He even makes a few new friends. But he also makes some powerful enemies. It will take everything Cameron has to make this right. One interesting part of this book is that each chapter is told by a different viewpoint. At first it can be confusing, but once you know who everyone is then it helps to bring the full picture of the plot together, so you know what is happening. I would recommend this book to higher elementary grades and middle school aged kids. I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.
