I had to read this book for group and I was really excited. I had seen the movie but the book is way different! It's a lot better. There's a tiny love story, but I promise it doesn't get in the way.
I loved it. So exiting. I read it whenever I got a chance to. I also watched the Movie& also loved it.
This was a really great book!! Its a great combination of a little romance and a lot of adventure. Though the book is very good, the movie is horrible! Never watch it! It is nothing like the book at ALL! This book is a "fractured fairytale". The tale is about Ella a stubborn but beatiful girl with the "special gift" of obedience given to her a birth by the naive but well meaning fairy Lucinda. One day her mother dies and her father heartbroken finds a new wife (in the book the father is actually a evil crook). And Ella's life is flipped upside down from there! Her stepsisters and stepmother are just a bunch of big brats,they order Ella around and make her give things to them once they learn about her "gift". One day Ella tired of being bossed around runs away-- you will just ahve to read to finds out what happens next!

Ella is given the "gift" of obedience when she's a baby. She spends her childhood getting ordered around without being able to do anything about it. When she is old enough, she sets out to find the fairy who gave the curse to her. Along the way, she meets a prince, a leprechaun, and encounters some trolls. I love the author i love the movie and i am in the middle of the book and so far it was amazing
I loved this book. Its about a girl named Ella who is given the gift of obedience from an evil fairy named Lucinda, meaning that what ever command, even if in joking manner she must obey it no matter how much she doesn't want to. I think this book is very well written and put together. This spell binding book is sure to have you on your toes through the whole thing!
I loved the beginning because of how sweet the prince was, but I hated about 1/2 way through the book when her sisters lock her in her room.
it is about a girl who was cast on a spell by a fairy named Lucinda. She goes on a quest to break the spell through ogres, elves, and all kinds of creatures. She gets married to the handsome prince Char at the end and lived happily ever after!
