this book was so good better than the movie I would say because the movie left some important stuff and some of the best stuff out. I liked all the poems and songs in the book.

In the first book of this masterpiece, we learn about why Frodo goes on his perolious journey to mordor and sees with his own eyes that sauron is active again
Amazing book for lovers of fantasy. J.R.R. Tolkien does such a great job at immersing you in his world. The detail is incredible, the characters are funny and likable, and there is so much to enjoy in this book. I will say that for inexperienced readers it could be a bit difficult to understand, but for the majority of mature tweens and teens it is the perfect book. If The Lord of the Rings seems a bit daunting, I would suggest reading the Hobbit first, as it is shorter and has a simpler plot. Overall, The Lord of the Rings is a must read.
Really great book, and you really start almost to become "friends" with the characters. I love Tolkien's writing style, its unlike any other literature. It can be difficult to understand, but it's still a beautiful and great book. The characters are so incredible and it's such a wonderful series that builds so well. My favourite characters are Pippin, Sam and Eowyn I recommend watching the movies as well, as they did a surprisingly good job of telling the story (and incredible casting, props and attention to detail). After LOTR and the Hobbit, the Silmarillion is the next to read (it's also one of the most complicated of Tolkien's works). Words of warning: Hobbit movies are not as good, and don't watch rings of power
When Frodo , a hobbit, inherits Bag End from his cousin Bilbo , he also inherits a ring. It looked like any ordinary ring, but in reality, it was the most powerful ring in Middle Earth. Not only can it make the wearer invisible, it is the Ruling Ring. If the Dark Lord, Sauron, gets hold of it, he will become invincible. After Frodo learns about this, he sets off with his companions, the Fellowship of the Ring to throw the ring into the Fire Mountain, the only way to destroy the ring. I liked the plot of the story, but sometimes the book gets a little boring. I recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy.
Did you guys know Tolkien fought in ww1 at the somme? Anyway these books are awesome same with the hobbit. The movies are great too. But they're so long. Each one is like 3 hr and 30 min or longer.
If you haven't read Lord of the Rings yet I definitely recommend that you start reading. Chances are that you've already seen the movies but you should still read it even if you have. I am in the middle of reading Lord of the rings and it is absolutely amazing!
Did you know that J.R.R. Tolkien (the author of The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings) is actually friends with C.S. Lewis (the author of Narnia)? They both write very good books and if you didn't read them then I reccomend it to anybody who loves reading.
so goood.
BEST BOOK EVER!!! (tied with the other books in the series) FRODO BE BEST BOI!!!!!!!!!!!!
