This special edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone has a gorgeous new cover illustration by Kazu Kibuishi. Inside is the full text of the original novel, with decorations by Mary GrandPré.

Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility.

All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.

But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry — and anyone who reads about him — will find unforgettable.

For it’s there that he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him… if Harry can survive the encounter.

I think this book is great, a wizard called Harry Potter loses his parents when he's young, he then lives with his uncle and auntie who are not kind to Harry. When he is eleven Hagrid, a half-giant takes Harry to buy his books, robes and wand to go to a wizard school. He makes friends with two other students, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Harry finds out about the philosopher's stone and belives that a teacher wants to steal the stone, so he looks for it, but finds a different teacher trying to steal it, they reveal that they are sharing their body with the person that murdered Harry's parents, Lord Voldemort. Harry kills Quirrel (the teacher that is stealing the stone), but Lord Voldemort survives and injuries Harry. He wakes up in the hospital of the school and is ready for the next year.

I love Samsung kids

I'm almost done with this book and I LOVE it! I'm kinda behind in Harry Potter. Everyone else has read all the books, seen all the movies, gotten all the merchandise, and visited the Wizarding World at Universal Studios, and I haven't done any of those yet, except for reading this! I must say though, I'm OBSESSED! Harry Potter is the kind of book you need to sit down and pay attention to, so I'd recommend reading this before bed or when you have 20 minutes (at least) to sit down and get comfy and in the right headspace. If not, you might not be paying full attention and could possibly forget some characters, since one missed character could confuse you for the whole book! Anyway, so far this book is super cool. It includes wizards, magic, and friendship together. I love all things wizards but don't like fantasy-type books that much, so this book is perfect! I so badly wish I could go to Hogwarts. :( One last thing I recommend is to read the book before the movie. I don't know, that's just what I'm gonna do and I think it'll keep you motivated to get through the series if you do this. All in all, I really recommend this book!
