This special edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone has a gorgeous new cover illustration by Kazu Kibuishi. Inside is the full text of the original novel, with decorations by Mary GrandPré.

Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility.

All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.

But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry — and anyone who reads about him — will find unforgettable.

For it’s there that he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him… if Harry can survive the encounter.

Harry is not a normal child. Every time he finds himself in trouble, the trouble simply goes away. When mysterious letters that his aunt and uncle do not let him read arrive, Harry is burning to know who is writing to him and why. When a man named Hagrid tells him that he is a wizard, he doesn't think he can be one, but when he finds out how his parents died, he believes it. Harry is invited to a special school just for witches and wizards and also finds out that he is famous. After making a few friends at Hogwarts, Harry has found his place. Yet something is wrong. Harry tries to solve the case with his friends Ron and Hermione and it gets even more mysterious. Read the book to find out what happens next.

Love This Book! Love This Book!

I'm sorry about my error. When I wrote, many people I know have read them all, I meant that they read all the books in the series.

Love This Book! Love This Book!

This book is the best. Many people I know have read all of them at least 10 times. I am only on the third book, but my favorite book so far is the first. It is about a boy named Harry who's parents were killed by a terrible wizard named Lord Voldemort. But Harry doesn't know that his parents were wizards, that he's a wizard, or that he's been excepted to Hogwarts one of the best schools in the world for wizards and witches. It's all because of his Aunt and Uncle who don't tell him anything until they are in a bad situation where they are threatened to, this is his story.

I love this book. It was a great introduction to the Harry Potter series! I'd give it 5 stars.

This is a gripping boook. so cool. I really love this book so much that i read it every day! I thank J.K Rowling is a really good author and she should publish more books if she can. Harry Potter and the stone is a wonder and should be No 1 in the world apart from the other Harry Potter books. It is amazing.
