This special edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone has a gorgeous new cover illustration by Kazu Kibuishi. Inside is the full text of the original novel, with decorations by Mary GrandPré.

Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility.

All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.

But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry — and anyone who reads about him — will find unforgettable.

For it’s there that he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him… if Harry can survive the encounter.

WHAT!!!!!!! YOU SHOULD LOVE THE BOOKS!!!!

I personally LOVE this series. If you have not already read these books, you totally should! If you didn't know already, These books are about a boy who finds out that he is a wizard

just because they r long doesn't mean they r terrible. u know what they say: "long means more to love!"

Ok, so maybe "Harry Potter" is long, but no need to rate it 1 star. Your overreacting, because some people, including me LOVE long books. And, I bet you a million bucks that you didn't even try to read this book. Please don't rate books even though you didn't read them or because "its too long". As I said before, The Harry Potter books are J.K Rowling’s best installation. These books are recommended for anyone wanting a heart stopping, funny, magical, and unique book. This is one of the most famous book series in history, and J.K Rowling was on Time for Kids’ Bestselling Authors and she was #1 on Top Earning authors, beating Jeff Kinney of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. These books are about an unusual boy, Harry Potter, with unusual things happened get around him. Living with his careless and mean Aunt Petunia, Uncle Vernon, and Dudley, he gets made fun of from his broken glasses o his baggy clothes that once belonged to Dudley, who is spoiled and huge. One day, Hagrid, keeper of the Hogwarts keys, came and told Harry the real reason his parents died, and invited him to the greatest school, Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Full of adventures with Ron Weasley, his poor and funny friend, and Hermione Granger, Muggle Witch and smartest in the class. Traveling to book to book is Harry Potter getting a year older each book, and stay with him from when he’s 11 all the way to 18. This book will bring you many sad moments, chuckles, and leave you rooting for J.K Rowling, and you won’t put the book down until every lady bit of it is done.

SO TRUE! You, milady, are a certain Ravenclaw. Way to stand up to a terrible book critic!

Thanks ;) I’m a potter head - I love Harry Potter. Of course I’ll stand up to it!

People are not gonna like me but harry potter is not good. I just am not into it!

I won't judge you. But, if you read just the first couple of chapters, they are pretty boring. Chapter 4 gets interesting, so maybe try it again. Also, if your reading level is below a S, I won't recommend it - it might not make sense.

I agree. Maybe you could go up, red a couple words further in the book, and if ur interested, instead of just reading that part, tell urself that if u go thru the rest of the book, u'll get to that part that ull like. But I won't judge u. I get judged all the time with things i like and don't like, and i dont want to be like them. I hope u find a book that u do like, tho.

IT BEST BOOK IN THE WORLD YOU MUST LIKE IT

harry potter is cool but i want jude you cause peolr like things as they like

i loved this book so much i cant believe it and at first i didn't like it!!!! at first i put it down but then when i picked it back up again i was so into it i could see every thing going on in my head and then after i finished it i watched the movie and it wasn't as good as the book cause the book was more detailed but yeah 5 stars every one should read this series really

Cady cat, that is exactly what happened to me! If you only read the first book, be informed that their are up to 8 books (the 8th one isn't very good). But yes I agree!!!

This book had me sucked in from page one. I finished it in 3 days just to get to the second book.

this book is the best my sister kept pushing me to read it because she is a real potterhead

BooBoo BooBoo

READ THE WHOLE SERIES!!!!!!!!!! I adore all of these books. They make my life complete. Especially the last book. Snape's Memories always make me cry. "Always." -Snape. *sigh* I love that part. Anyways, srsly guys, you have to read these. You won't be disappointed. A must read, even for adults. READ THEM!!!!!!! <3 Harry Potter <3

Oh my God, Snape's memories always get me! I read the first book 21 times (counting), the second book 9 times, and the rest of the books 2-3 times. But, no matter how much I read it, Snape's memories always make me cry! You might not have known, but (SPOILER ALERT) Snape's parents were in a lot of fights. Snape's dad hit and yelled at his mom. Snape had no friends and was very lonely. That is why he isn't nice to Potter (or anyone, really). But hes such a good person! I LOVE SNAPE!

Harry Potter is such incredible book. Harry Potter is a book about the boy who lived!!!! I would 100% recommend Harry Potter because, it has so many cool incantations and spells, and it really makes you feel so powerful like you could do anything. In conclusion I Totally recommend.

This book is a fantasy land because you get to experience going to Hogwarts! Harry Potters life has not been the best... Harry Potter’s parents were killed when he was an infant. I will resume later.
