This special edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone has a gorgeous new cover illustration by Kazu Kibuishi. Inside is the full text of the original novel, with decorations by Mary GrandPré.

Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility.

All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.

But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry — and anyone who reads about him — will find unforgettable.

For it’s there that he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him… if Harry can survive the encounter.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is a spectacular first book in the seven book series written by J.K. Rowling, it was published June 26th, 1997. It's about a boy named Harry Potter, orphaned at the age of one when his parents were killed by a dark force. Now, Harry has been forced for 10 years to live with his rude aunt and uncle, as well as a bully for a cousin. On Harry's 11th birthday, he finds out he's a wizard. About a week later, he gets on a train that goes to his school, Hogwarts. On the train, he meets a boy named Ron Weasly, who's not that bright, but stays loyal and true to his friends, Harry also meets a girl named Hermione Granger, who can be bossy, but is super smart. They arrive at Hogwarts, and though it's supposed to be safe, there's danger lurking in the most unexpected of places. I'd recommend this book for 4th grade and up,and I read this book in 3rd grade, but it took some time. If you're a fantasy, magic, and adventure lover, this book's for you!

I like this book because the author, I think, took a lot of time just for this book. Then she did the same with the other books. J.K Rowling is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!! ILOVE THISBOOK!!!!!!!!!!
