Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility.
All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.
But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry — and anyone who reads about him — will find unforgettable.
For it’s there that he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him… if Harry can survive the encounter.

I love this book.
After all this time I right a review! Ok so this book is truly amazing and I wanted to write about it. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer Stone. It all starts early harry potter was a normal child as he thought but what he didn't know that he was a very special child in fact. Harry was raised by his muggle aunt and uncle and there spoiled rotten child. One day it was his cousins birthday so they went to the zoo there he figured out he was not a normal boy. Talking to snakes that's almost terrifying! Soon after that one calm and quiet afternoon harry got mail from a unknown person his uncle was very disturbed by this action quickly after mail was coming through the roof. his uncle wanted for this act to stop so he tried every thing but nothing worked finally his uncle made a choice packed there bags and left. Soon it was Harrys birthday and there was a horrible storm it was so hard to sleep so he made him self comfortable and made him self a birthday cake out of the dust on the ground. ( Thump Thump) a sound hit the house and (Vrooooooom) a tall man appeared right in front of his eyes " happy Birthday harry" the tall man handed him a birthday cake it was a little squished but still worked the Aunt and Uncle raced down stairs " WHO ARE YOU" they shrieked hagrid the man said back and I am here to take harry

I LOVE THIS BOOK franchise
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is the first book in the magical series of Harry Potter. Harry Potter, who thought he was just an ordinary boy, soon finds himself to be a wizard. He is brought to the magical school of Hogwarts, where he finds friends and foes, learns unique spells, and confronts both dangerous and gentle mythical creatures. When he learns that he narrowly escaped death by the wand of an evil wizard, Voldemort, years before, and now the same wizard plots to kill him and regain power, Harry and his friends, Ron and Hermione, must defeat Voldemort, or else Hogwarts and the whole wizarding world would fall. This is my #1 favorite book and series, and probably always will be! It's just something about these books that I appreciate more than other other series- maybe it's the incredible imagination, or just JK Rowling's fantastic way of spellbinding the words together to create a volume that will leave it's mark in the history of the 20th Century! Nowadays, other 'cool and new' books such as the Hunger Games, Divergent, etc. are starting to become more popular, but I believe books like these are the best; books that create a special world as you read them, books that can transport you into that special world, and books that truly have an amazing amount of imagination in them. Don't worry if you think that reading Harry Potter would be considered 'nerdy', this is probably the coolest book I've laid my hands on!
