From acclaimed author Sarah Weeks comes a touching coming-of-age story about a young girl who goes on a cross-country journey to discover the truth about her parents, which the New York Times called "a remarkable novel." Perfect for fans of Rebecca Stead's When You Reach Me and Ali Benjamin's The Thing About Jellyfish.

She doesn't know when her birthday is or who her father is. In fact, everything about Heidi and her mentally disabled mother's past is a mystery. When a strange word in her mother's vocabulary begins to haunt her, Heidi sets out on a cross-country journey in search of the secrets of her past. Far away from home, pieces of her puzzling history come together. But it isn't until she learns to accept not knowing that Heidi truly arrives.

Surprisingly suspenseful and a great read! Shares a lot of life lessons and is emotional but in an uplifting way.

I thought this books was so sweet and sad and I loved it!

i want to read it i heard it was really good and it sounds straight and hard and cool and intense

So B It is about a girl named Heidi and her mo is mentally disabled so she has a lot of troubles speaking. Heidi's mom only knows 26 words and one of them she always says is soof, but Heidi doesn't know what it means. So she show her mom some pictures and asked if she knew who or what soof meant and Heidi's mom just kept saying over and over again. So Heidi took a bus to Liberty New York because that is where the pictures were taken. So when Heidi gets to a mental hospital in liberty she is trying to find out what soof means. So if this sounds like an interesting book then you should read it so i hope you liked the review.
