From acclaimed author Sarah Weeks comes a touching coming-of-age story about a young girl who goes on a cross-country journey to discover the truth about her parents, which the New York Times called "a remarkable novel." Perfect for fans of Rebecca Stead's When You Reach Me and Ali Benjamin's The Thing About Jellyfish.

She doesn't know when her birthday is or who her father is. In fact, everything about Heidi and her mentally disabled mother's past is a mystery. When a strange word in her mother's vocabulary begins to haunt her, Heidi sets out on a cross-country journey in search of the secrets of her past. Far away from home, pieces of her puzzling history come together. But it isn't until she learns to accept not knowing that Heidi truly arrives.

I would say this is probably my favorite book ever! i have read it many times and never been disapointed. I love the characters and the lovely heart-breaking story line.

I decided to read this book because my cousin told me about it and I thought it would be good to check it out at my school library .But I have'nt got to far so im trying. The book is about a girl named hati yeah I think thats her name but anyways the book is about her and her mom, her mom doesn't remember anything they just went to some random lady's house and the mom gave the lady a bottle and formula for the baby so then the lady let them in her house and sence then the lady has been takeing care of hati and her mom.plus when hati grew up her and the lady started teaching the mom over and over and she started learning a little but i dont want to say the rest your just gonna have to read it. :)
