I figured out the word "anomaly" by using context clues. The article told me that cats' eyes are normally green or yellow. I can conclude that a cat with blue eyes definitely does not follow the norm. If I didn't know what the word "depletes" means, I would be able to use context clues to figure it out. The author used the words, "emptying the bottle down to the very last drop" in the sentence after the one that used the word "depletes."
