Hatchet is a great, adventurous story. Brian, a 13 year old boy from New York is traveling to his father's house in Canada. Little does he know that his life is about to change. With a devastating crash having him stranded in the middle of the woods, with just a hatchet by his side. Will he do it? I love this book because you never know what is going to happen next. Whether he is finding food, or seeing nature at its worst. Brain tries to survive but it is so much harder for him to concentrate when he has a horrid secret on his chest. I love Brian, the main character, because he never gave up, even in the worst of times. My favorite part is in the middle of the book when he starts using different tactics. This novel is a great book for 4-7th graders as it is such an enjoyable book. I would rate this book a 4 out of 5, a wonderful story. Therefore, I definitely recommend this book, you could definitely learn something helpful that may come in handy at the most unexpected times.
