Scat is a great book. It's about how a boy and a girl, Nick and Marta, are trying to solve a mystery about their biology teacher going missing in a field trip at the swamp. Everyone suspects a kid called Smoke had something to do with their teacher's disappearance. Later, Nick and Marta realize that he does, but not in the way that they think. Determined to solve the mystery, they investigate more and are pulled into an adventure at the swamp including an oilman, a man who camps in the swamp, and a panther. It's a really exciting mystery book, and I enjoyed it. My connection to this book is text-to-text because I read a book where people disappear and they find them in a forest. I give this book a 5-star because it is very exciting with many plot twists and hooks to keep you reading.

Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is on the most dangerous quest of his life. With the help of a satyr and a daughter of Athena, Percy must journey across the United States to catch a thief who has stolen the original weapon of mass destruction — Zeus’ master bolt. Along the way, he must face a host of mythological enemies determined to stop him. Most of all, he must come to terms with a father he has never known, and an Oracle that has warned him of betrayal by a friend. I would recommend this book to any one who likes action and a bit of humor.

The Demigod files contains various mini-bios on a few of the main characters and gods. As well as a map of the camp grounds and a few other features that are sure to please any fan of the series. In my opinion, the biggest bonuses of the book are the three short stories that it contains. Now, I'm not sure if the stories are completely separate from the overall plot of the series and therefore have no bearing, or if they do play a role in the things to come. Given that the characters present are in line with the most current book out, I'm led to believe that the stories are somewhat a part of the series. In which case, if you are reading the series you should check this book out.

I think that I Survived: The Battle of D-Day by Lauren Tarshis is a great book in my opinion and I recommend this book to people in fourth grade and above. I really like the way the author shows how life was like during World War 2 in a village in which Nazis have control of it. The story follows Paul who lives in Le Roc (a fictional village) which is controlled by the Nazis and is trying to get a gift for his Mom’s birthday. As the story continues, Paul rescues an American paratrooper named Victor. Then, Paul unravels many secrets after Victor tells him that he is part of the resistance. After, Paul gets in the middle of a deadly, bloody battle on the beaches of Normandy known as D-Day. I really like how the author Lauren Tarshis flash-forwards to a cliffhanger involving Paul in the first chapter. The genre of this book is historical fiction and I would definitely recommend this book to people who love the I Survived series and historical fiction books.

Touch Blue is about a girl named Tess Brooks. She is 11 years old. She lives on an island in Maine and ever since her best friend moved away, the island has been talking about getting rid of the school, as there aren't enough children to keep it open anymore. The islanders don't want to move away from their home, so they have agreed to take in one orphan child per family. Tess's family is taking in a 13 year old boy named Aaron. Tess and her younger sister, Libby, are really excited and hope Aaron will like the things they do. Tess has a lot of lucky things she collects. She finds a piece of smooth blue glass in the sand and picks it up to be her new lucky charm. After all, there is a saying that is "Touch blue and your wish will come true". Tess wishes that Aaron will like the things her and Libby do. There is so much stress. And on top of that, there is a mean boy named Eben who is really annoying. This is a great book, I give it a 5 star.
