This book is about a boy, August, who has facial abnormality. Because of his insecurities, he never really went to school and didn't have much friends. But one day, his parents decided to finally send August to try to go to school. At first, of course, everybody in his class looks at him with the "Did you just kill someone" face. But gradually, August makes a good friend, Jack. August and Jack becomes really good friends, however, Jack betrays August, because he don't want to lose his old friends, who bully August. This leads to lots more problems between August and Jack, and even the school. This story is tragic, funny, and moving all at the same time. I think every middle schooler should read this book at least once, because it really teaches you and gives you a lesson about treating others how you are supposed to be.

momokos's book review was featured in Drama.
This is one of my favorite graphic novel from the author, Raina Telgemeier. This book is about a girl, Callie, who is really interested in acting and performing on stage. However, she encounters a problem - she is a horrible singer. So even though she tried for an audition for the middle-school drama club, she ended up being the set designer. Later on in the story, many problems starts to appear, because the set crew is not working well together, and this drives Callie crazy. How can she solve the "drama" happening around her? I would recommend this book to people who like graphic novels with great, colorful pictures, and dramatic plot. I really enjoyed reading this book, because it talks about problems of middle schoolers that I can also relate to.

momokos's book review was featured in The Clique (Clique (Prebound)).
This book is the first book in "The Clique" series. The story is about 4 popular girls named Massie, Kristen, Dylan, and Alicia, and one unpopular girl named Claire. The 4 popular girls were friends at first, but everything changes after Claire Lyons comes from Florida to live with Massie. Massie is super rich, and her house is huge, so her dad, who is friends with Claire's dad, invited the Lyons to live with them until the Lyons' house is finished building. Obviously, Massie doesn't like the idea of having the Lyons live with her family, so she starts bullying Claire with her other 3 girls. So in this book, there are lots of conflicts, mainly between Massie and Claire. However, one day Claire decided to get revenge and sneaked into Massie's room... I would recommend this book to people who like reading about school life and friendship, because in this book, you can learn a lot about complicated friendship and school life.

This book is the third book of "The Clique" series. The characters in this book are Massie, Alicia, Kristen, Dylan, and Claire. This book is mainly about the conflict between Massie and Alicia. Although Massie and Alicia were best friends, Alicia one day decides to throw a sleepover party without inviting Massie, Kristen, and Dylan. After hearing about that, Massie starts to exclude her from "The Pretty Committee" and lets the unpopular girl, Claire, into the committee. Alicia makes her own "clique" too, but then she realizes that it was actually harder than it seems to create a "cool clique." The problem of this story is that that even though Massie wants Alicia back in her clique, she don't want to do that at the same time, because Massie feels that Alicia betrayed her. I would recommend this book to people who like reading about school life and friendship, because in this book, you can learn a lot about complicated friendship and school life.

This book is the 7th book of "The Clique" Series. This story is about 5 girls, Massie, Alicia, Dylan, Kristen, and Claire. In this story, Massie finally goes back to Octavian Country Day (her private school) after being suspended. The Pretty Committee makes a new goal - they are going to get the "key" that unlocks the secret room of their school. The key is hidden somewhere in the bedroom of one of the Briarwood boys, but they don't know who's. They want to find the key to be the next alpha, which means the popular girls. I would recommend this book to people who likes to read about popular girls and fun, adventurous school life.

This book is the second book in "The Clique" Series. This story is about 4 popular girls and one unpopular girl. The 4 girls are called Massie, Alicia, Dylan, and Kristen. The unpopular girl is called Claire. In this book, Massie decides to throw a Halloween Party for all 8th graders. However, she has to invite EVERYONE, not only the "cool and popular" kids. So, things starts to get complicated and lots of conflicts starts appearing, until it gets to the point that one of her best friends, Alicia, becomes an enemy, not a friend. I would recommend this book to people who likes to read about popular girls and fun, adventurous school life.
