It was tough being the 2nd best student to a boy Philip Hall...especially when Beth lets him be #1 because she likes him and reckons he maybe likes her. When she realizes that she has let him be first, and he makes her mad, she is ready to compete.Over 10 years agolindsta added a book review.
Jackie Robinson had an amazing strong will. He chose showing his skills over fighting back to prove he was a great ball player.Over 10 years agolindsta added a book review.

Awesome book about an orphan who runs away from his aunt and uncle and does amazing feats during his time away. He has interesting adventures, meets some diverse characters, learns some hard lessons but teaches some too. Hilarious and thought provoking story set in a time when towns were divided based on color.Over 10 years agolindsta added a book review.
Wonderful book based on the author's real experience as a young teenager during the Holocaust. The story is graphic at times, but to tell the true horrors of this horrific event, these graphic stories must be conveyed. Great book to see just how unfair things could be and the grace in which to handle such adversity. (Religion is of course at the basis of this book. Elie does question his fate as it is happening.)Over 10 years agolindsta added a book review.
