This book is about a poor boy named Charlie who lives with his parents and his grandparents from both his mother's and his father's side of the family. Charlie and his family live in New York City and in New York City, there is a chocolate factory which produces the best chocolate bars in the world. While most kids can afford to buy 30 bars a day, Charlie only gets one bar on one day of the year- his birthday. But no one (Except for willy wonka who is the owner of the factory) has ever been inside it. But when willy wonka sends out these golden tickets- only 5 of them- in different bars sent all around the world. (SPOILER ALERT) One day, Charlie's grandpa gives him some money to buy one bar of chocolate. (not on his birthday) And he goes and gets one. He goes back home, opens it and.... There's no golden ticket. But then he goes out again and finds a ten dollar bill on the ground. He picks it up, goes to the nearest store, and buys a chocolate bar. (no golden ticket) then he opens the next one and... finds a GOLDEN ticket. but this ticket isn't just a ticket to the factory, but a ticket to his life's destiny.Over 10 years agoawesome3000 added a book review.
This book is about a girl born into a crazy family that cheats, are bad role models, and doesn't really care for their kids. Why, even on the day she was born, her parents weren't even thinking about her! Matilda knows she isn't meant for this family. She learns how to read on her own by reading her mother's cook book, the only book in the house, and eventually memorizes every word in the book cover to cover. She is a motivated, thoughtful, and VERY nice child who is in a terrible family. She then realizes that she has magical powers. I can't say any more or it will ruin the book. But I'll just tell you this: What i told you has left out a HUGE part of the book.Over 10 years agoawesome3000 has read this book.
