A perfect murder
A faceless witness
A lone courtroom champion knows the whole truth . . . and he’s only thirteen years old
Meet Theodore Boone

In the small city of Strattenburg, there are many lawyers, and though he’s only thirteen years old, Theo Boone thinks he’s one of them. Theo knows every judge, policeman, court clerk—and a lot about the law. He dreams of being a great trial lawyer, of a life in the courtroom.

But Theo finds himself in court much sooner than expected. Because he knows so much—maybe too much—he is suddenly dragged into the middle of a sensational murder trial. A cold-blooded killer is about to go free, and only Theo knows the truth.

The stakes are high, but Theo won’t stop until justice is served.

Brimming with the intrigue and suspense that made John Grisham a #1 international bestseller and the undisputed master of the legal thriller, Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer will keep readers guessing and pages turning.

This is the first book in a series about a kid named Theodore Boone. Both his parents are lawyers he knows a lot about the law. Kids start to seek him for help solving problems, and that is only the beginning. You should definitely read this book, it is basically an adventurous mystery.

Such a great book!!!!! I love mysteries, but are horrible at figuring them out, but i still have a passion for reading them. This is one of the little mystery selections there are for my age. Way better than i expected it to be. Theodore Boone is such a great influence on kids. Yet another great book from John Grisham!!

I have read all Three Theodore Boone books. I would recommend reading this book

I loved this book and I especially love Theodore who is so intelligent but so young. I recommend this book to everyone and all of John Grisham's books are truly amazing.

This is one of my favorite books as it has a great sense of mystery and adventure tied together.

Theo is thrust into a no-win situation when an acquaintance confides that his cousin has incriminating evidence against the killer that is about to go free in the murder trial. But the cousin won't come forward because he is an illegal immigrant and fears that he will be deported and unable to support his family. Theo has been sworn to secrecy, and is torn between keeping his word to protect someone in need, and making sure that a criminal is brought to justice. This book may be best-suited for kids on the older end of the publisher's recommended age of 9-12 and younger teens -- it is heavy on description of criminal court procedure that may be difficult for younger readers to follow. The crime in question is a death via compression of the carotid artery. Theo also gives legal advice on a drug charge and a drunk driving arrest. Theo is never in true Grisham-style danger, though there is a menacing "body guard" type character that follows and spies on several people. There is a good age-appropriate lesson about the basic tenets of our judicial system, including the concept of presumed innocence.

Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer is a funny book about a meddlesome sixth grader. Theo desperately wants to be a lawyer but, being only a child, he can’t. That doesn’t stop him though. He may get in a little over his though, when he starts investigating a murder. I love this book and both the sequels!!!!

It is so good. You can't stop reading it. I think everyone will like it. I loved it.

This is an outstanding book! Literally! I couldn't stop reading it! I would recommend this book if you are a negotiator and like law & legal rights. The book is about a young boy, named Theodore, seeking adventure and fighting for his friend's rights. John Grisham has detailed this book, I can't wait to read the whole series!
