"An exciting story about what really matters, Saving Mr. Terupt is warm, wise, and packed with hope."--JOAN BAUER, Newbery Honor Winner

The kids and their favorite teacher from Because of Mr. Terupt and Mr. Terupt Falls Again return for a third book in the funny, warmhearted series for fans of Wonder.

Seventh grade was going to be awesome. The only thing missing was Mr. Terupt.

The kids from Mr. Terupt’s fifth- and sixth-grade classes are entering their first year of junior high school. There’s a lot to be excited about, but there are new challenges, too. Peter and Jeffrey face tough competition on their wrestling team. Alexia has a disastrous first day of school, and that’s only the beginning. Anna is desperate for Charlie to propose to her mother—what is he waiting for?! Danielle isn’t feeling so well, but she's trying to tough it out, like Grandma. Trouble with a bully makes Luke dread going to school for the first time ever. And Jessica is waiting anxiously for an acceptance to a theater retreat in New York City.
Everyone is missing Mr. Terupt. When a fight threatens to break up the group forever, they think their favorite teacher is the only one who can help them. But the kids soon find out that it’s Mr. Terupt who needs saving.

This novel includes extra content in the back of the book. Readers will find a Junior High Survival Guide with tips from the old gang!

"Buyea has a knack for making his character’s voices distinct. This offering will resonate with tween audiences seeking realistic stories with multifaceted characters. Fans of the “Terupt” novels will cheer as the Snow Hill crowd enters seventh grade, though this latest volume will also appeal to newcomers to the series."-- School Library Journal

"This third in the series [is] as easy for new readers to pick up as it is for returning fans. A warmly gracious invitation to a convincing middle school world."-- Kirkus Reviews

"The individual personalities and abilities of Buyea’s characters emerge through their narratives as they tell about their interests and feelings, including moves from friendships to budding romantic relationships. Danielle’s narrative includes a scientific explanation of diabetes type one and her courageous attitude in learning how to manage her health. This is an engaging read with broad appeal.--VOYA, Recommended

Looking for a good book to read? Well Saving Mr. Terupt by Rob Buyea is an amazing book to read. I give it 5 out of 5 stars. Saving Mr. Terupt is a realistic fiction book that is set in the students current middle school that they are attending and Snow Hill School in Mr. Terupt's classroom. This book is told from 7 different characters points of view. Saving Mr. Terupt is the 3rd book in the series. In comparison to Mr. Terupt Falls Again, the 2nd book in the series, the stories involve the same characters, Jeffery, Anna, Alexia, Peter, Luke, Jessica, and Danielle. Also, the 2 book's setting and story are different. This book shows an amazing relationship that students can have with a teacher that means a lot to them. For example in the text it says, " It was time for more drastic measures. There was no way I was allowing this to happen. These people had made a mistake." This shows that they have a strong relationship because it shows that when the results came in and Mr. Terupt was going to loose his job they were prepared to do anything it takes to get it back. This book is about a group of friends that suffer through multiple challenges along the book. For example, a big fight they had with each other, trying to save their favorite teacher and much more. Although, they might suffer through a lot of challenges, they also have a lot of fun moments too. Like, the "Everything Fair", planing their campaigns in Mr. Terupt's classroom and much more. If you liked Because of Mr. Terupt or Mr. Terupt Falls Again, then you would like this one too. I would recommend reading the books in order so, you would have a better understanding of the plots and relationships between the characters. Someone that would like this book are mostly students and kids ages between 10-14 years old because I think that they would relate more.

I hope they make a fourth one!

I wanna read this book so bad!!!!!!!! It looks so intresting!!!! What do you guys think?

I agree with everyone! It is awesome!

This book is awesome! Just like Mr. Terupt Falls Again and Because of Mr. Terupt My 4th grade teacher read Because of Mr. Terupt and everybody loves it! I have read all of the books and now am keeping friends updated! :-)

I read the first two books in 4th grade, but now it is the summer. I really would like to read this book and find out what happens next.

I honestly think that Robert Buyea did a great job making these complex personalities for each of these characters. It helped them seem more alive and real. I liked the first and last books best

I really want to read this and the third book!

this is the third book

It is a really great debut novel, and it really showed how one kind teacher can leave a HUGE impression on his/her student(s), like my teacher. It is a class of 7 students, and their class looped to the next year(means the same class and teacher go on to the next grade), and the students love their teacher, but trouble hits them in the new school year. It is an EXCELLENT book, and I 110% recommend it.
