"David, take a look around you. Your family, your faith, they're not in the way, they are the way." ~ Grandpa James Smallbone...David Smallbone, a rising Australian concert promoter, had a booming music label and dreams of expansion. Featuring 90s contemporary Christian giants like Amy Grant and Stryper, David's success soared, but so did his ego. Then, the economic tide turned, crashing his music empire. Left with nothing but his unwavering wife Helen, their six children (with another on the way), and eight suitcases, the Smallbones embarked on a bold journey – from Australia to Nashville, Tennessee – to rebuild their lives. Facing hardship head-on, the family leaned on their unshakeable faith in God and each other. With the local church's warm embrace and the discovery of Rebecca's (their eldest) extraordinary singing voice, miracles seemed to unfold at every turn. As a huge for KING & COUNTRY fan, I was thrilled to learn about this movie. The trailers fueled my anticipation, and the film itself did not disappoint. Billed as a heartwarming blend of "mums, miracles, and music," Unsung Hero delivers exactly that. This emotional rollercoaster explores the power of family and the unwavering support of a community. You'll laugh, you'll cry – there's no way you will be able to watch this film without cracking a smile or shedding a few tears. This 90s cinematic gem is truly inspiring. I was captivated throughout, never wanting it to end! While Helen Smallbone, with her unwavering faith and love, emerges as the film's unsung hero, the Smallbones are refreshingly portrayed as an imperfect family. They face fights, losses, and meltdowns. Yet, one thing shines through: they never let their struggles define them. They remain a united front, their faith unwavering. Starring familiar faces like Joel Smallbone (of for KING & COUNTRY), Daisy Betts, Candace Cameron Bure, and Terry O'Quinn, the film boasts phenomenal acting that breathes life and believability into every scene. For Smallbone family fans, cameos by all nine members are a delightful surprise. Music lovers, especially those with a 90s nostalgia streak, will appreciate references to iconic songs like Rod Stewart's "Rhythm of My Heart," Seal's "Crazy," Stryper's "To Hell with the Devil," and Michael W. Smith's "Place in this World." In short, Unsung Hero is a must-see. It's a powerful and inspiring film, perfect for a family viewing experience. Happy watching!

WOW, really? So no longer in Alaska? That's really cool, I've moved a lot so I understand any mixed emotions about moving.
