This charming novel by Kate Saunders, follows the adventures of twins Oscar (also called Oz) and Lily, with twists of magic and ... chocolate? This book is overflowing with magical doings, a talking cat and rat, a mysterious unofficial man named J, J’s assistant, B62, and The evil chocolater, Isador. Isador made a immortality chocolate, and tried to recreate it, but needing all the molds, only having access to his, but is his heart actually twisted and evil, or is it just the side effects of not being sober? And if so, can a evil villain have a change of heart?
The Spoffard family has inherited the most magical house in London on Skittle Street, along with a mysterious chocolate shop on the ground floor. Long ago, the chocolate shop's famous chocolate makers, who also happen to be the great-great-uncles of the Spoffard twins, Lily and Oz, invented chocolates with magical powers. Lily and Oz meet an imortal cat named Demerara that could speak, and an imortal rat that could also talk. The twins realize that their uncles didn't die on a tram accident, they were murdered! They joined the SMU ( Secret Ministry of the Unexplained ) along with a witch named Caydon and became SMU secret agents! I really like the plot of the story and I love the characteristics of Demerara! I would recommend this book to anyone who likes the story of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, or anyone that likes an interesting magic story!
I loved this book and it really got into detail and really just made every thing fun in a way that made since but really didn't at the same time
The Whizz Pop Chocolate shop was a gloriously chocolatey read, delivering all the delicious adventures it promises. It's unlike most books I've read, with immortal talking cats and rats, ghost elephants, and magic chocolate, but that just makes it all the more memorable. Kate Saunders did an excellent job at weaving together a believable and magic story about how two twins move into their great-great-great-great Uncle Pierre's home and get wrapped up in "government" work, only for there to be a tragic kidnapping that makes a great story about how even evil people have a soft spot in their hearts. "How kind of you to cry for me; I really don't deserve it." The only critisizement I have is that the drama in this book is blunt. For example, instead of "He leapt off the train like a cat and hit the gravel hard. His pulse wouldn't stop pounding." it would be "He jumped off the train and landed on a patch of gravel." Other than that, it was a unique book that I will think of every time I enjoy smooth, rich chocolate.
i love it!!!!!!!
In this book Oz and Lily Spadford are moving to London and they are living in a Chocolate shop when they discover that there is something strange about their new home. They meet a talking rat, a talking cat, and the ghost of an elephant.
I liked this book, but it was a bit boring. It was detailed, and it was well written, but it seemed like the characters went on adventures, and each one was the same except for a few different parts.
The Wizz Pop Chocolate Shop is about two children named Oz and Lily moving to London in an old house that their great, great uncle lived in. The house also use to be a candy shop and evil magicians are now after the recipes, but Oz and Lily are determined to keep them safe. Along the way they befriend an invisible cat, a speaking rat, and an elephant's ghost and flee into an action-filled battle.
