The riveting follow-up to the New York Times bestselling The 5th Wave , hailed by Justin Cronin as “wildly entertaining.”

How do you rid the Earth of seven billion humans? Rid the humans of their humanity.

Surviving the first four waves was nearly impossible. Now Cassie Sullivan finds herself in a new world, a world in which the fundamental trust that binds us together is gone. As the 5th Wave rolls across the landscape, Cassie, Ben, and Ringer are forced to confront the Others’ ultimate goal: the extermination of the human race.

Cassie and her friends haven’t seen the depths to which the Others will sink, nor have the Others seen the heights to which humanity will rise, in the ultimate battle between life and death, hope and despair, love and hate.

This book is my person favorite in the series. There are unexpected twists and turns. It shows some interesting points of view. The only thing I did not like was how it was constantly changing points of view without warning. Besides that, it was an amazing book that I would gladly read over and over again.

I have read The 5th Wave and are just now getting into The Infinite Sea. I haven't really been interested but I have high hopes!

This sequel to the fifth wave blew me out of my seat! i never thought a sequel could be better than a first book- boy! was i wrong! this follow up novel shows the refugees as they try and survive winter, with the ever watching "Others" around them. ever Evan Walker surviving his suicide he returns to his love-Cassie. as they're reunion comes crashing down the story switches to Ringers perspective as she is captured by the Vosch and drugged with the 12th system. She soon meets Razor, her new boyfriend, as they struggle to understand the Others intent with the Earth. i feel like this was better than the first because you can see the characters much better and you get to learn more about the Others...plus more action! 6/5 stars!

I honestly agree with everyone here how The 5th Wave was a lot better than the Infinite Sea because of the plot, characters but I honestly think The Infinite sea has a lot more suspense though compared to the 5th wave it isn't that good.

This book is the second book to the "The 5th wave" book series. In this book, Cassie, Ben, and others are searching around the remaining humans for allies, but it was hard to trust anyone anymore after the 5th wave. I like the way the characters interacted with each others like how Ringer talks to Teacup by sometimes scolding her but still cares about her. I also liked the fight scene when they used cool sci-fi weapons like alien bombs or other advanced technology. While reading the book, I feel that I can sometimes relate to Nugget because he was in an unfamiliar face and is scared. Sometimes when I go to summer camps, I might feel nervous or even scared because I don't know anyone there and don't know what to expect of them, so I feel that I can relate that part to Nugget, or Cassie's brother. I would recommend this book to others who liked the first book "The 5th wave" and I would rate it 4.5/5 stars.

The Infinite Sea was okay compared to the first book which was The 5th Wave. I think the 5th Wave gave me more of a lasting impression than the Infinite Sea because I was already acquainted with most of the characters already. The book has such a haunting narrative throughout so I couldn’t help but be captivated by the plot (even though it wasn’t as good as the 5th Wave’s). The plotline is also full of action and suspense but the 2nd book is significantly shorter than the first, so I was kind of disappointed because as a reader I prefer longer books. I also like the way the author focuses on covering every plothole and answering every question through subtle hints, because that makes the reading experience even more immersive. My favorite character was Ringer, but the author is very unpredictable about his main characters as you cannot predict whether a secondary character will turn into a main character or not. Every character has a real background of their own and some of them are very relatable, and most of them have been through the same thing which are the first three waves: EM shutdown, tsunamis and the pestilence. I also learned something important from the series which is to always stick together because being a team is better than going solo, teamwork is very important.
