This book is awesome with a surprise ending. It's a little violent but I really loved it. Sundew is fierce but caring and it's a great read for everyone 9+
The Poison Jungle (Wings of Fire, Book 13)
By Tui T. Sutherland
Some secrets are deadly.
It's no secret that Sundew wants to destroy the HiveWings. It's her life's mission to exact revenge on the tribe that tried to wipe out the LeafWings and ripped every tree from the surface of Pantala.
Every tree, that is, except the wild and dangerous Poison Jungle, where the surviving LeafWings have been hiding since the war. Hiding, plotting, and waiting for a dragon like Sundew, who is uniquely qualified to bring down the Hives.
There are dark secrets in the jungle, though-some that Sundew is keeping, and some that she's only just beginning to discover. And now that a new war is upon them, Sundew and her friends must unearth the oldest secret in the jungle-even if what they find has the power to destroy them all.

I'm continuing to really enjoy this arc of the series! I really loved seeing the poison jungle and all the carnivorous plants that want to eat everything and everyone. Bumblebee is the cutest. I really liked the differences between the LeafWing groups as well. The differences in the different cultures of the dragons on this continent are so varied and interesting. However, I think this might be my least favorite of this arc so far. While the previous books focus on working together to overcome adversity, this one drops that somewhat. The group takes a backseat to Sundew's relationship with Willow, and I agree with some of the criticisms on that front. Sundew's characterization changes rapidly once Willow is brought into the picture. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of people that act completely different when with their partners versus when they're with others. But Sundew's whole personality seems to shift and was different than the previous books. I can see the arguments on both sides. Sundew was away from home and maybe didn't have Willow at the forefront of her mind while trying to dodge crazy HiveWings, but she really is sooo different once Willow is around. Also, I think Tsunami seemed a bit off in this book. She doesn't seem very much like the Tsunami that I knew in the previous books, so I hope some of her old self is brought back in the next book. I did enjoy this one, and I hope Sundew recovers some more of her acerbic dialogue back in the future books because I find it hilarious!
Wings of Fire is an amazing series, I really suggest you to read it. Start from book 1 to book 15 and more to come. Tui T Sutherland has done an amazing job writing these books. From the Dragonet Prophecy, Jade Mountain Prophecy, to the Lost Continent Prophecy. It is amazing.
Out of all of the Winds Of Fire books this one is no doubt my favorite. I simply adore Bumblebee and how she can cause chaos but also save the day! Plus, has an amazing plot twist at the end with a thrilling cliffhanger.
This is one of the best installments to the main series! The amount of lore is impeccable, and we get a lovely new ship to fuss over (Sunlow forever! Does it remind anyone else of Lumity a bit?) Hawthorn is definitely one of my favorite characters, I always obsess over the Wings of Fire villains and heโs no different! 5/5.
Hes not a villain, it's the othermind, I dont even know if u actually read the book ._.
I read the book. I still think Hawthorn could be considered a villain. His ambition got the best of him, and he definitely had some malicious intent. He used the othermind to his own avail. And while I agree, the othermind is the BIGGEST villain, that doesn't mean Hawthorn isn't one too. Besides, this is a fairly old review of mine, when I was new to DOGO. Can we just... agree to disagree? Sorry if I caused any confusion.
incredible, thrilling, adventure!
It is an awsome book with thrilling adventures so if anyone sees this I recommend you reading it :D
This book is very exciting and I really recommend it for any fan of dragons, I HAVE NOT read it in a while but if your a fan of dragons and Tui T. Sutherland you will LOVE this book ( You should probably read the rest of the series before you start on the poison jungle thought) but I hope if you read it you will enjoy this book and everything!๐
This book was pretty good and action packed, but I have the same complaint that I had from my review on " Winter's Turning. " Sundew wants revenge and is driven by revenge and is annoying, grumpy and stubborn. It was just meh and so far, my least favorite book in the series but still amazing!
I disagree. Characters canโt be perfect cardboard cutouts all the time, they need flaws too. While Sundew is a bit impulsive- Iโll give you that- sheโs also a really well written character.
Im getting this book because I just finished The Hive Queen and I think this one will be good because the protagonist is Sounded and I love her and the poison jungle sound cool and BUMBLEBEE IS SO CUTE!!! ๐
And yes Bumblebee is really cute ( I have a feeling she's going to be like Kinkajou when she grows up a bit)๐ And I am not disappointed because I love Kinkajou! ๐๐๐
