Mythological monsters and the gods of Mount Olympus seem to be walking out of the pages of twelve-year-old Percy Jackson's textbooks and into his life. Series creator Rick Riordan joins forces with some of the biggest names in the comic book industry to tell the story of a boy who must unravel a treachery more powerful than the gods themselves.

This is a GREAT book, and reading it got me interested in the series. I never really liked the Percy Jackson books, but after reading this I am hooked! I have re-read this book a lot and really enjoyed it.
This book is one of my very favorites because it is action-packed. The people I know love genres such as nonfiction, fantasy, and mystery. Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief has it all! If you love blockbusters, I am sure you will like this book.
This story is one of my favorites because it is action-packed. Books like this always make you be on the edge of your seat, wondering what might be next. If you like blockbusters, I'm sure you will like it too.
o.m.g. this was my absolute favorite series to read- along with Harry Potter and Twilight ( the books are way better than Twilight movies BTW!) I've also read the other Percy Jackson series and they also are my favorite. I. LOVE. THIS. SERIES.
I had started this book because a lot of other kids in my class had been reading it. I finished it in a matter of hours. I would definitely recommend it for the humor, action, and general story line.
When I first read Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief, I was glued!!! It is a intense but at the same time humorous. Though the book was amazing with all of its twists and turns, the movie was horribly inaccurate. There was even a Hydra in the movie but not in the book. The whole plot of the story in meddled and tattered with! I recommend the book not the movie.
I've read all the books in the Percy Jackson series, and I loved all of them!
This is the first book of this serie, and I like it the most because it's most original, and that's when everything happened, the truth is revealed. So, this is about a boy named Percy Jackson. All his life is boring, he lives with his mom, and mean step father that always beat up his mom and him. He was told that his dad left him since he's only a baby. he has difficulties reading english, because the words always change into different patterns he always thought that he has ADHD. Until one day, when he went on a field trip to a museum. A teacher asked Percy for a private talk and transformed into a monster and tried to kill him, because she thought that he's the lightning thief (the person who stole the lightning bolt from Zues). And then he found out that he's actually a half blood, half god (Poseidon), half human, and his best friend Grover is a half goat to protect Percy. After what happened in the museum, Percy is no longer safe, so he went to the half blood camp thing so that it will protect him. And later on this story, he will find the real lightning thief, return the bolt back to Zeus which saved the peace of Earth know as the human world. I really love this book, because it's very intense, and its about Greek mythology which I'm pretty interested in, love the movie too! Enjoy.
This book is about a boy named Percy Jackson who was a demigod. He and his friend had to go on an adventure to find the people who stole Zeus’s lightning bolt. They journeyed to different places to save his mom in the underworld. I enjoy reading different greek mythology that has different mythical animals. I don't like the lame fighting part which is not as exciting as compared to other stories like Maze Runner. Overall the storyline is quite entertaining and I will recommend this book to fans who enjoys reading greek mythology.
