This special edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone has a gorgeous new cover illustration by Kazu Kibuishi. Inside is the full text of the original novel, with decorations by Mary GrandPré.

Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility.

All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.

But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry — and anyone who reads about him — will find unforgettable.

For it’s there that he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him… if Harry can survive the encounter.

I really liked this book i enjoyed how it really captured my attenition

This book is very magical with twists and turns around every corner. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone has a very gripping plot. Harry finds out he is a wizard, goes to Hogwarts and makes friends. A Quick Read!

This is my favorite series. Harry learns that he is a wizard and he goes to Hogwarts, a wizarding school. He makes friends and feels like more a family than at home with his aunt and uncle and cousin, Dudley. His parents are dead and he wants to find out more about them. My favorite part of this book is when he finds an enchanted mirror. There's lots of adventures in this book. Don't let the size overwhelm you because it's an easy book to get through.

the first time i read it, it was a little boring... but now that i am reading the other books i think it is really good.

I like the books better than the movies, my favourite still Hagrid, he is big big guy but very kind with Harry and his friends

I really really like the book better than the movie, has more magic and action and you can really feel the friendship with those 3

This is an amazing start to a brilliant series! Harry Potter is the best hero ever. He starts out in his known life without parents and without love. He has no friends and is treated miserably. Then on his 11th birthday he finds out that he is a wizard, and in the magic community, he is a legend! This is the first of seven books on his journey in his new school Hogwarts, and a boy who finally has happiness in his life, and people who care about him. This is an awesome book that starts the Harry Potter series, and is a great kick-off. As much as I lovelovelovelovelove the series, I would not suggest it to younger kids. I myself was not allowed to read the book till I was older, and I suggest this for other families as well. As inspiring this book is, there is a lot of violence, and subjects meant for older kids. You did an magnificent job J.K. Rowling!

This book is a great start the Harry Potter series. The Harry Potter series is about a young boy named Harry Potter who was one of the only ones to make it out alive from when the Dark Lord, Voldemort attacked. Along the way, Harry meets his best friends Ron and Hermione, and Harry learns how good he is at quidditch. I strongly recommend this book because of it's many twists and turns, as well as ups and downs. Join Harry as he lives his unordinary live at Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Explore the magical world of Harry Potter, as he for the first time realizes he is a wizard. Harry is treated incredibly poorly by his Aunt and Uncle Dursley and his cousin Dudley, who are his only family left. On his twelfth birthday, Harry meets Hagrid, his soon to be friend, who helps celebrate Harry's birthday with a homemade cake, his first real birthday gift. Later, Harry would go to Hogwarts, where his adventures will really begin.
