This special edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone has a gorgeous new cover illustration by Kazu Kibuishi. Inside is the full text of the original novel, with decorations by Mary GrandPré.

Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility.

All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.

But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry — and anyone who reads about him — will find unforgettable.

For it’s there that he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him… if Harry can survive the encounter.

OMG, I LOVE THIS BOOK. This is the best book in the series according to me, filled with wizards, wands, spells and magic! Introducing.... Harry Potter

This is the first of seven books in the Harry Potter series. It is Harry's first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He makes friends with Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. This book is based on the Sorcerer's Stone. Voldemort or he who must not be named wants the stone for his own so that he resurrect himself after a failed attempt at taking Harry's life 10 years before.

The book is great. Try the fifth one. It gets very interesting! Enjoy! ;-)

This book is good for a short indulgent read, but if you want some deep and intense reading that has more meaning I don't recommend this book. J.K. Rowling has gotten off to a good start on her series with this book, but I do not like all the rule-breaking involved. Added to that is the rivalry between Harry and Malfoy which leads them to fight with magic and petty fighting is not the sort of thing magic should be used for.

Harry Potter and the sorcerers stone is a book (and a movie) about a kid named harry potter (as it says on the cover) lives with his aunt and uncle (that are very mean) because his parents died. so one day a half giant half man named Hagrid comes and takes harry to hogwarts and he meets friends Ron and Hermoine. But there is a dark wizard in hogwarts who is actually one of the teachers. And he wants the socerers so he can live forever. But Harry defeats him and the Hogwarts season is over so he has to go back to his uncle and aunts house until next year.

Awesome Book! I loved this book, and I am sure you will too! Some tricky words, but overall the book is amazing...! after reading the first one, read the rest of the series

This book is AMAZING! It tells the reader about the history, the adventure , and the secrets. If you ever want to read something adventurous and magical, read this book! It has a mixture of hardships and problems and a dash of good times.

This book is a fantastic beginning to an even more amazing series! I loved every minute of it, and I would recommend this book without a doubt to anyone who loves a good adventure story with a lot of heart, and some Quittitch thrown in for good measure. There is a good dose of action, with tons of laughs and an amazing setting. I don't know anyone who has read Harry Potter and didn't like it. This book is a load of fun!
