This special edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone has a gorgeous new cover illustration by Kazu Kibuishi. Inside is the full text of the original novel, with decorations by Mary GrandPré.

Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility.

All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.

But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry — and anyone who reads about him — will find unforgettable.

For it’s there that he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him… if Harry can survive the encounter.

Harry Potter is an 11 years old boy who is very unusual. This is because he was baby sitter by his uncle and aunt (for which he was the only one to survive the death spell). He then started to attend a school called Hogwarts. He learned his parents were magical and got friends (Hermione and Ron). This book was very fun. Even though it is long, it is very interesting and funny.

This book is fantastic! Harry Potter is a boy that thinks he lives an ordinary life until he receives a letter (more like a lot of letters). After this, his adventures begin! I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series!

This book was probably the best story in the whole series. It was exciting and full of adventures.I liked Hermione Granger was probably my favorite character because she was always sticking up for Ronald and Harry. This book is probably recommended for advanced third graders. It has a lot of people getting hurt but, overall it is a great book.

This book is the best book in the world. Harry Potter thinks he is a normal boy, taunted by his cousin Dudley and hated by Aunt Petunia and and his uncle. No one is his friend. When a beetle-eyed jumbo of a man rescues him from his step-family, he is off on his first adventure at Hogwarts, facing danger and three-headed dogs, live checkerboards and smelly giants. I reccommend this book to anyone that likes magic.

Harry Potter is not my favorite book. It is interesting and all but, the plot is slow and you already know what is going to happen. I know lots of people who like it but not my favorite book.

I love this book. This is an awesome book, full of magic and adventure. It's the kind of book that makes you want to believe it exists. (I'm still waiting for my Hogwarts acceptance letter!)
