In this new stand-alone fairy tale, Princess Annie is the younger sister to Gwen, the princess destined to be Sleeping Beauty. When Gwennie pricks her finger and the whole castle falls asleep, only Annie is awake, and only Annie-blessed (or cursed?) with being impervious to magic-can venture out beyond the rose-covered hedge for help. She must find Gwen's true love to kiss her awake.

But who is her true love? The irritating Digby? The happy-go-lucky Prince Andreas, who is holding a contest to find his bride? The conniving Clarence, whose sinister motives couldn't possibly spell true love? Joined by one of her father's guards, Liam, who happened to be out of the castle when the sleeping spell struck, Annie travels through a fairy tale land populated with characters both familiar and new as she tries to fix her sister and her family . . . and perhaps even find a true love of her own.

This was yet another cute book by E. D. Baker. It's was about sleeping beauty's younger sister who can't be affected by magic. When everyone in the castle falls asleep, she stays wake. So she sets out on a quest to wake her sister and the rest of the castle. Along the way she meets many princes, (including unexpected ones) and finds out about a plot to take over her kingdom.

I know the title looks sort of cheesy or something but the book is really good. I'm not kidding, I saw the book at first and thought, eesh this book is going to stink! And then I found myself reading this book over and over again. It is awesome.

I love E.D. Baker. She is the best author ever. She flips the Sleeping Beauty story a lot. I like imagining the story from the sister that cannot fall under spells at all. It was funny and full of quests and surprises.

Meet Annie, Gwendolyn's younger sister. When Gwendolyn turns sixteen, prophecy states that she will prick her finger on a spinning wheel and fall into a deep sleep. On that day, she and the entire castle staff fall asleep. Except for Annie. Will Annie be able to find the right prince to wake her sister?

This book by E. D. Baker is a perfect combo of classic fairy tales and modern humor. With the tale of Sleeping Beauty as it's base, this story has elements of Hansel and Gretel, Diamonds and Toads, The Princess and the Pea, and Rapunzel, among other classics. E. D. Baker's humorous writing style and her strong characters will keep you hooked until the last word. I highly recommend this stunning first story in a wonderful trilogy.

When Annie was born she was protected by a spell that said that magic would have no effect on her, so when Annie's older sister Gwen pricks her finger on a spinning wheel and sends the kingdom into eternal sleep Annie remains awake as the last person who is able to save her Kingdom.

When Princess Annie was born a fairy cast a spell on her proclaiming that magic would not effect her. But one day Annie's older sister Princess Gwen (also known as sleeping beauty) pricks her finger on a spinning wheel, making the whole castle fall asleep. Its up to Annie to save the day. Along the way she meets Rupunzel, fairies, Hansel and Gretel and lots more.

This book was surprisingly very good. I liked how the author put this modern spin on a classic fairy tale. I have to admit, I am one of those girls that isn't all " Oh my gosh, princesses!" and never was (why would I now, I'm eleven) but was thoroughly impressed by this book. Would definitely recommend.

its ok i have the book but i gave it to my teacher because it was her birthday a long long time ago and she gave it to her kid and the kid could not read it so she gave it to her cousin and she told me she liked the book

I LOVE this book! Annie reminds me of myself because of her curiosity. if you want a good book then read this!!! And there are more books after this so you can keep on reading about her!
