Orphan, clock keeper, and thief, Hugo lives in the walls of a busy Paris train station, where his survival depends on secrets and anonymity. But when his world suddenly interlocks with an eccentric, bookish girl and a bitter old man who runs a toy booth in the station, Hugo's undercover life, and his most precious secret, are put in jeopardy. A cryptic drawing, a treasured notebook, a stolen key, a mechanical man, and a hidden message from Hugo's dead father form the backbone of this intricate, tender, and spellbinding mystery.

this is the best book ever! it has alot of pictures, but it is still good :) To those that have not read it, READ IT!

I read this book in the 3rd grade and was disappointed by the amount of pictures. I was expecting a large book with occasional pictures, but instead I got a book with around 100 pages of pictures in the very beginning. I think that the ideas behind the story are very good and imaginative, but some of that gets lost in the pictures. I would recommend this book if you can understand pictures and appreciate art.

hi hi

I read this a LONG time ago, so I don't remember much. It was a long read, It has a LOT of pictures, I just remember that it was a really good book.
