A modern-day classic and New York Times bestseller that celebrates the power of individuality and personal expression from beloved Newbery Medalist Jerry Spinelli.

Stargirl. From the day she arrives at quiet Mica High in a burst of color and sound, the hallways hum with the murmur of “Stargirl, Stargirl.” She captures Leo Borlock’ s heart with just one smile. She sparks a school-spirit revolution with just one cheer. The students of Mica High are enchanted. At first.

Then they turn on her. Stargirl is suddenly shunned for everything that makes her different, and Leo, panicked and desperate with love, urges her to become the very thing that can destroy her: normal. In this celebration of nonconformity, Newbery Medalist Jerry Spinelli weaves a tense, emotional tale about the perils of popularity and the thrill and inspiration of first love.

Don’t miss the sequel, Love, Stargirl, and Jerry Spinelli’s latest novel, The Warden’s Daughter, about another girl who can't help but stand out.

“Spinelli is a poet of the prepubescent. . . . No writer guides his young characters, and his readers, past these pitfalls and challenges and toward their futures with more compassion.” —The New York Times

This book good.

I think this story was very entertaining and interesting. For example, Stargirl is this girl that is different from the other people at her school. She does all sorts of different things from other people like singing happy birthdays to people during lunch while playing her ukelele, and also brings her pet rat Cinnamon to school. The author made the enchanted place Stargirl goes to sound very mysterious. At the end of the book, It also sounded very persuasive because it made me want to know what happened next.

this story is good is talking about a special girl name star girl and that she want to be popular and this book is talking about she's life in school.

Stargirl is an amazing book! It is by a perspective by a high school student named Leo Borlock. It has tons of high school drama, comedy, and romance. It is a realistic fiction book and has so much fun you wouldn't want to stop reading it. So hop on the reading express and get ready to read Stargirl. After you finish Stargirl, guess what? If you would like to read more then you can get Love, Stargirl! So enjoy!!!

HEHE HEHE

Star girl is a story about a girl that is weird and want to have friends. And because the main character got into a lot of problem like. And in the first everyone think she is weird, but then because she's weird she became popular. Anyway this is a Realistic Fiction story. And after I'm done with this story I learn that you can do anything you want, but just be yourself.

"Stargirl" is a book about school life in Mica Area High School. This is a book about a tenth grader girl named Stargirl and an eleventh grader boy named Leo relationship's story. Stargirl is different to the others, she does weird things, like dancing in the rain and sing happy birthday to strangers in her school, but Leo is normal, he does what every else do. They are totally different but they like each other. Their relationship is weird but interesting and also happened many things. I suggest you to read this book if you are looking for an interested school life story.

"Stargirl" is a book, about a girl called Stargirl that goes Mica High School. Narrated by a boy named Leo, in 1st person. Stargirl is a really weird girl, but really nice, by weird it means really weird unless you think that dancing in the rain is normal or carrying a rat as a pet and changing names from, Susan into Pocket Mouse, Mudpie, Hullygully. Although she is really nice and brave, she doesn't care what others think of her and always think positive. She just be who she really is, and doesn't try to hide it. She also sings to everyone when his or her birthday. She will always ran up to that person play ukulele and sing happy birthday in front of everyone during lunch time making the birthday kid really embarrassed. During this book she began to be popular slowly, people started to think it's natural for her to be weird which made a girl called Hillari Kimble who wants to be popular mad. Then Stargirl and Leo starts to like each other and have a relationship. I think that this book is pretty interesting, but then not that good because it's kinda confusing, and weird.

There is a girl, her name was Stargirl, she goes to Mica High School, before she goes to Mica High School, she was home schooled, people thought she was really weird, she sings happy birthday songs to random people, and send cards to everyone in the school. Stargirl and a guy called Leo, had a relationship, as they get closer, people start to ignore them, it's like pretending that they do not exist. Stargirl is not just weird, her personality makes her special, she has her own style, she is always positive, for example she always change her own name to something else.

The book I am doing my book review on is called Stargirl. This book is about a High school student called Leo who moves to Arizona, and meets this girl called Stargirl. Stargirl is a very unusual girl, she dresses differently and acts differently. She’s strums the ukulele and sings happy birthday to random people during lunch, she dances outside when it’s raining, she attends other people’s funerals. She decides to be a cheerleader for Mica, she’s a good cheerleader. She is always cheering during the games, sometimes when the other cheerleaders take a break, she’s still out there cheering. Except the only negative thing about her cheering is that sometimes she cheers for both teams. She becomes popular at her school for a while. Stargirl and Leo like each other, and they slowly build a relationship with each other. Overall I think this is a good book and I would recommend this to people who are looking for a good book to read.
