Catrina and her family are moving to the coast of Northern California because her little sister, Maya, is sick. Cat isn't happy about leaving her friends for Bahía de la Luna, but Maya has cystic fibrosis and will benefit from the cool, salty air that blows in from the sea. As the girls explore their new home, a neighbor lets them in on a secret: There are ghosts in Bahía de la Luna. Maya is determined to meet one, but Cat wants nothing to do with them. As the time of year when ghosts reunite with their loved ones approaches, Cat must figure out how to put aside her fears for her sister's sake -- and her own.

Raina Telgemeier has masterfully created a moving and insightful story about the power of family and friendship, and how it gives us the courage to do what we never thought possible.

Ghosts by Raina Telgemeier is about a girl named Kat who moves to Bahia de la Luna due to her sister's condition. At first Kat isn't the fondest of the city, but she meets friends and new people, and gets to enjoy the wonderful annual festival that celebrates the Day of the Dead (or so I think, since my memory is foggy). All in all, it's a good book, and a good recommendation.

I have the book ghosts and I recommend reading it because its just awesome. So whenever you have time go read the book ghosts

Kat doesn't want to move, especially not to spooky Bahia de la Luna. But she knows it's for her sister with cystic fibrosis. As she discovers new friends, and signs that maybe Ghosts are real, she realizes that maybe it won't be as bad as she thinks. Things are not always what they seem after all.

I definitely recommend Ghosts! It teaches a lot about culture while also keeping the storyline, and it is very well illustrated as well.

This is a really nice book which also encouraged me to follow up and respect my culture more! Definitely recommended.
