The first time she saw him, she flipped. The first time he saw her, he ran. That was the second grade, but not much has changed by the seventh. She says: “My Bryce. Still walking around with my first kiss.” He says: “It’s been six years of strategic avoidance and social discomfort.” But in the eighth grade everything gets turned upside down. And just as he’s thinking there’s more to her than meets the eye, she’ s thinking that he’s not quite all he seemed.

This is a classic romantic comedy of errors told in alternating chapters by two fresh, funny voices. Wendelin Van Draanen is at her best here with a knockout cast of quirky characters and a hilarious series of misunderstandings and missed opportunities. But underlying the humor are two teens in transition. They are each learning to look beyond the surface of people, both figuring out who they are, who they want to be, and who they want to be with.

I am reading this book in a book club and so far it is really good. I think that this book is so good that you should start reading it right now! Also, I think there is a movie for it.

This is currently a popular realistic fiction book for 6th graders.

I read this book for my summer reading and I loved it! The romance between Juli and Bryce is different than usual. Some people may have that type of relationship with someone. Let's say you like someone, right. And that person doesn't like you so you stop liking them. Then they start realizing they have feelings for you and want you back.... that is the exact type of romance they have. Do Bryce and Juli end up dating or was this romance a total mistake.....read this book to find out. <3

I loved this book so much! I read it a few times and may read this again. The reason why I loved this because the first few chapters related to my life and what I was doing during the 7th grade. I also liked this book because it showed the two point of views of the guy and the girl. The guy was misunderstanding of the girl and maybe so was I. But at the end it didn't really relate because I didn't like the girl. This book is one of my most favorite books!

This was a great book. I like how the perspective switched from one character to the other, and the title is really right. They do flip in the book!

I LOVE this book! The chapters "flip" back and forth between the two main characters' point of view so you get to watch their attitudes towards themselves and each other change over time. A GREAT story.

A good story, Lacking a good ending...
