I decided to read this book because it’s by one of my favorite authors, so I really enjoyed it! Even though I don’t read realistic fiction, I still liked Tui T. Sutherland’s writing style, and how the book involves dogs, which are one of my favorite animals. The characters were all hilarious, including the bulldog who “wouldn’t budge”, and this is a great book for middle-grade readers who love reading about animals, their antics, and a whole bunch of pet trouble! The book is about a boy named Parker who has always wanted a dog. So when he finds one out in the rain one day, he begs his mother to be allowed to keep him. But having a dog is hard work—especially a large, heavy bulldog who prefers to sit and sleep instead of run around and play! Can Parker convince his dog to be lively and playful? Read this book to find out! Overall, I rate this book 4/5 stars. I would definitely recommend it, and I can guarantee that you will also enjoy this book from the Pet Trouble series.
