While seeing a dog on a public bus is rare, one traveling all by itself is unheard of. That is apparently what Eclipse a two-year-old Labrador that resides in Seattle, does on a regular basis to get to the nearby dog park.
According to owner Jeff Young, the two have been taking the bus to the park since Eclipse was a baby. About two weeks ago, Jeff got a little distracted while waiting for the bus. When he turned around he realized that the impatient Eclipse had already boarded the bus and taken off. Though the passengers were a little bemused at the sight of a lone dog, Eclipse did not seem to think there was anything amiss.
She settled down at her usual spot near a window and then simply trotted out when the bus arrived at the dog park. Since then, the well-mannered dog has become a regular on Seattle's D line. While her preference for a window seat confused passengers at first, they now know that it is only so that Eclipse can see her stop.
Though the world is amazed at the smart dog, Jeff is not impressed. He says the journey is pretty easy given that the bus stop is right outside their home and the dog park, just a few stops away! What is not clear is if Eclipse returns home alone too and if she is required to pay a fare!
