Many artists specialize in painting marine life. However, few do it like Peruvian artist Pascual Mimbela - By taking a plunge into the Pacific Ocean and creating his masterpieces, as his subjects swim by.
Pascual who is also a certified scuba diver says that he has always been fascinated by the sea and spent many years painting like other artists - From the surface. However in 2013, he decided to take it to where the action is. So early in the year, donned in his scuba diving gear, Pascual packed his brushes, spatulas, oils and canvases and took the plunge - He hasn't stopped since. The artist whose sixteen underwater masterpieces were recently displayed in the town square of Los Organos, Peru, says that he would like his artwork to raise awareness about the importance of protecting and respecting our marine life.
