From Newbery Medalist Cynthia Voigt, Book II in the exciting adventures of Mister Max—12-year-old detective in disguise.

In Mister Max: The Book of Lost Things, Max Starling proved that he is more than a detective, he’s a Solutioneer. His reputation for problem-solving has been spreading—and now even the mayor wants his help.

Someone is breaking windows and setting fires in the old city, but the shopkeepers won’t say a word about the culprits. Why are they keeping these thugs’ secrets?
When the mayor begs for help, Max agrees to take the case, putting himself in grave danger. It’s a race to catch up with the vandals before they catch him.

Meanwhile, Max is protecting secrets of his own. His parents are still missing, and the cryptic messages he gets from them make it clear—it’s going to be up to Max to rescue them.

I won this from DOGO a while ago, and I just now read it. (I had to read the first one, too, before this one) Well, either way, it was really good. It continues the story of Mister Max trying to find his parents, and he tries to be an independent solutioneer (not detective!). This is certainly an action-packed book good for any person who wants a fun story.

this book was the best in the world

WOW, this book was really good... I wasn't surprised how Cynthia Voigt started out all mysterious... but it was a fun easy relaxing book... the plot was on point and "Mister Max" was very mature and a problem solver.. I really enjoyed this book and even my brother liked the book too, so I guess this easy read was a win-win. :-)... and plus you have all these questions forming in your head wanting to read more and more... I hope you guys will enjoy this book too!

Do you think I need to read the first one, or can I just go to this one?

You could start reading to this book, but you might get confused at first because the character were more in-depth about in the first book...

I got the book yes finally but you all had great comments.

Nice

i LOVE mysteries!!! from reading this, i definitely want to read the whole book!!!!!!

This look like a fun mystery book! After all I have read some books by Cynthia Voigt like the Tillerman series(which was really really GOOD, you should READ it), and if these series were amazing and heartwarming, I hope this one will be too.
